Property Returned After 3 Oakland Teens Arrested in Connection With San Leandro Burglary

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Three Oakland teens were arrested on suspicion of burglary Tuesday in San Leandro after a resident reported seeing two suspicious males in a back yard.

Police responded to the 2400 block of West. 135th Avenue after an alert neighbor reported seeing the suspects exit a back yard with a bag.

Witnesses recorded the license plate number of the white Honda they used to flee the area, and provided that description to officers.

Detectives then drove to the East Oakland home of 18-year-old Jose Pelaez, the Honda's registered owner, and found the vehicle nearby, according to police.

Three suspects were arrested, and found to be in possession of property stolen at the scene of the burglary. Those items were returned to their owner.

Paleaz will appear in court Nov. 3 at 9 a.m. in Hayward, according to police.

The names of the other two suspects were not immediately available.
