San Francisco's Tiniest Piece Of Land Sells Below Asking At $165K

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- One of the tiniest lots to ever go on the market in San Francisco has sold.

The 914-square-foot sliver of land at 2785 Diamond St. in Glen Park is sandwiched between two homes.

There were no bidding wars -- a rare occurrence in one of the country's hottest real estate markets. It was listed in September for $199,000 and ending up selling for $165,000.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports the property agent asked the San Francisco Building Department about the land's potential.

"The short answer was, yes, you could build but there were a lot of buts," he said.

The land used to be attached to one of the homes next door but was split among family members.

The identity of the new owner is unknown.
