3.0 Magnitude Earthquake Hits San Ramon Area

SAN RAMON (CBS SF) -- A magnitude 3.0 earthquake struck the San Ramon area Wednesday afternoon, the USGS reported.

The magnitude 3.0 quake hit just before 3 p.m. Wednesday one mile east of San Ramon.

The earthquake was among hundreds of small ones that have struck in and around the area since last month. The majority of them have been occurring along the Calaveras Fault, which intersects with the Hayward Fault, according to the USGS.
