Palo Alto Shack Available For Under $2 Million

PALO ALTO (CBS SF) -- There's no escaping the Bay Area's red hot housing market -- especially in Palo Alto, home to the likes of Hewlett-Packard, Tesla Motors and other tech giants.

So it came as no surprise when a 180-square-foot shack hit the market for a whooping $1.998 million earlier this week.

But as Curbed reports, the 1930 shack at 829 La Para Ave. is not the star of this listing.

The hut sits on land that could host a new home up to 2,816 square feet. Assuming a tear down is in the future, that price will drastically go up once design and construction costs are figured in.

Considering it's less than a 25 minute drive to Stanford and Facebook in the residential Barron Park neighborhood, we may not even have time to flinch before this one is snapped up.
