Billionaire Investor Calls Out Big Tech Companies Over Lack Of Innovation
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Billionaire investor Vinod Khosla threw called out some big tech companies for what he calls their lack of innovation over the last three decades while speaking at a conference in San Francisco.
Khosla made his fortune founding Sun Microsystems, and venture firm Khosla Ventures.
He spoke about the lack of innovation in some IT architecture from some major players in the server market at the Structure Conference in San Francisco.
"They've not introduced what I consider one new idea over the last 30 years. Mostly they've spent their last few years engineering financials," referencing Dell, EMC, and IBM, Business Insider reported.
Khosla says much of today's server technology is based on old designs, and he is looking for the next big thing.
"I suspect there's a much better architecture out there," Khosla said.
Khosla recently made local headlines over a beach access dispute along the San Mateo County coastline.
