Thanksgiving Weather: Cold Front Unleashing Rain, Snow & Ice
(CBS SF) -- Thanksgiving week is cooking up a big change in weather around the Bay Area, complete with all the fixings of rain, snow and ice.
The shift began Monday following record high temperatures in parts of the Bay Area. Oakland saw 72 degrees on Sunday, but not for long. Temperatures across the Bay Area dropped nearly 10 degrees with the onset of a cold front.
KPIX Weather Anchor Roberta Gonzales said rain is expected to arrive after midnight on Tuesday. There should be very few spotty light showers for Tuesday's morning commute as the cold front passes through around lunchtime from the north to the south, she said.
By Tuesday evening and into Wednesday morning, snow could dust levels as low as 2,500 to 3,000 feet.

Roberta said to look for possible snowflakes not only on Mt. Diablo and Mt. Hamilton, but Highway 9 in the Santa Cruz mountains.
"'Black ice' could arrive by Thanksgiving morning in those inland locations with temperatures dropping to the upper 20s to low 30s on Wednesday night into Thanksgiving morning," she said.
Spotty rain showers will continue through Wednesday morning, tapering off by mid-morning. Computer models are currently hinting at .25 to .75 inches of rain.
