Teen Girl Shot During San Jose Carjacking

SAN JOSE (KPIX 5) -- A 17-year-old girl was shot during a carjacking attempt in San Jose Monday evening.

The teenager reportedly exited her running vehicle to get into a friend's car around 6:30 p.m., KPIX 5 reported.

The carjacking suspect allegedly jumped into the teen's running car, and when the teen tried to stop the suspect from taking off in her car, she was shot.

Police closed the intersection of Winfield Boulevard and Coleman Road following the shooting.

The car was later recovered in San Jose, and police are still searching for the suspect.
