San Jose Police Ask For Public's Help Finding Burglary Suspect

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- San Jose police on Friday asked for the public's help finding and identifying a burglary suspect seen in surveillance video taken during a break-in last September.

The incident happened at around 2 p.m. on September 15 at a home on the 2500 block of Sherlock Drive, according to authorities.

In the video, a young man who appears to be in his 20s is seen forcing his way into the home through a rear sliding door.

A small dog can be heard barking in the background as the suspect enters the home and moves to the front door. In audio heard on the clip, the suspect appears to speak to additional parties outside the home on his cell phone.

"Hey, it's locked from the inside. I'm in. I'm in," the suspect is heard saying. "F***ing you guys have to jump the fence"

The suspect, wearing a white shirt and black gloves, goes in and out of a bedroom where he grabs a tote bag and seems to search for an unnamed item.

"I can't find the f***ing thing. I can't find it," he is heard saying.

The suspect continues looking, walking over and peering between the sofa and chair before going back into the bedroom. He crouches down and then appears to rifle through a dresser or cabinet.

Finally, he gives up his search and leaves with the tote bag in hand

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Mike Montonye #3071 of the San Jose Police Department's Burglary Unit at (408) 277-4401.
