Armed Men Steal 40 Guns, $50K, Pot, Jewelry, Cell Phones In Sonoma County Home Invasion Robbery

SEBASTOPOL (CBS SF) -- Several gunmen broke into a Sonoma County home, bound the homeowners, and made off with large amounts of cash, guns, jewelry, cocaine and marijuana, according to Sonoma County Sheriff's.

It happened on Sunday, in the 5400 block of Lone Pine Road, in Sebastopol. The 911 call came in early Sunday morning, at 2:38 a.m.

According to authorities, a man and his wife were awakened by the sound of the shattering glass of a sliding door. A group of men entered the home, rousted the couple from their bed, and forced the man to open the 2 gun safes in the garage.

The thieves bound the couple and made off with more than ten pounds of marijuana, jewelry, cocaine, cellphones, $50,000 in cash and 40 guns.

The suspects fled the area by car. Authorities described them as Hispanic men, between 20- and 40-years-old. No individual descriptions were available.

It is still not clear why the homeowners had such large sums of cash, guns, and drugs inside their home.
