Firefighter, 3 Others Hurt In San Francisco House Fire

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A firefighter was hurt and three people treated for smoke inhalation after a structure fire in San Francisco's Sunnyside neighborhood Tuesday morning, according to fire officials.

The fire at 43 Edna St., a two-story residential structure near Marston Avenue, was reported at 9:11 a.m., according to fire department spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge.

The person who called in the fire pulled someone out of the building before firefighters arrived on the scene, Talmadge said.

Firefighters were able to get water on the fire by 9:22 a.m., but one firefighter fell through a floor inside the building while battling the blaze, Talmadge said.

That firefighter was not seriously injured and was being evaluated at the scene, Talmadge said.

The fire was contained at 9:26 a.m.

Three people from the building were being treated at the scene for smoke inhalation but no patients were transported to hospitals, Talmadge said.
