Injury Report: The Green Bay Packers Have One Of The Longest Lists Heading Into Wild Card Weekend

By Danny Cox

One thing that is of a positive note for the Green Bay Packers is that they are heading into their Wild Card playoff game with the Washington Redskins, and almost all of their injury report consists of players listed as probable. Another note of good fortune is that they don't have a single player listed as out and only one listed as doubtful. The bad news is that there are 18 players listed on their injury report for the first round of the playoffs.

Cornerback Sam Shields appears to be in the worst shape of any Packers on the active roster as he is listed as doubtful due to a concussion. He did not practice at all this week and it's possible that he could play on Sunday, but there is a very high chance that he won't even dress for the game.

Offensive left tackle David Bakhtiari had not practice since injuring his ankle in Week 15, but he was finally back on the field this week. He sat out Wednesday, but he participated in practice in a limited capacity on both Thursday and Friday. He's listed as questionable but is likely going to be a game-time decision.

Linebacker Jayrone Elliott (quadricep) and defensive end Datone Jones (neck) also missed a good bit of practice this past week, but they were limited on Friday afternoon. On offense, tight end Justin Perillo also sat out on Wednesday, but did practice in a limited fashion on the final two days of the week and it's due to a hamstring injury.

Believe it or not, the Green Bay Packers' injury report of 18 players isn't the longest current list in the NFL. The Houston Texans have 19 listed on their injury report for the first week of the playoffs, but more of those names are on the field and practicing more than those in Green Bay.

Many other big names such as Eddie Lacy, Clay Matthews, and numerous others are listed as probable for Sunday's game with the Washington Redskins. Some were limited on Friday, but that's mostly to give them as much rest as possible so they can be prepared and ready to go on Sunday. Chances are, if a player is cleared by team doctors and can even stand, they will not miss this playoff game.

Probable:
Bryan Bulaga, T (ankle)
Mike Daniels, DT (hamstring)
Letroy Guion, DT (neck)
Eddie Lacy, RB (rib)
T.J. Lang, G (neck)
Corey Linsley, C (ankle)
Clay Matthews, LB (ankle)
Andy Mulumba, LB (knee)
Mike Neal, LB (hip)
Nick Perry, LB (shoulder)
Damarious Randall, CB (groin)
Josh Sitton, G (back)
Lane Taylor, G (knee)

Questionable:
David Bakhtiari, T (ankle)
Jayrone Elliott, LB (quadricep)
Datone Jones, DE (neck)
Justin Perillo, TE (hamstring)

Doubtful:
Sam Shields, CB (concussion)
