Car Shot At While Driving On I-80 In Pinole; Child Hurt By Shattered Glass

PINOLE (CBS SF) -- A 2-year-old child was injured after a shot was fired at a car driving on I-80 in Pinole Monday evening, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The California Highway Patrol received a report of a shooting around 7:45, and said the car was hit by one bullet, but could not say how many shots were fired.

There were two adults, and three children riding in the car on eastbound I-80 near Fitzgerald Way when the car was hit by the bullet.

The 2-year-old child in the backseat was injured by shattered glass, but did not need to be transported to the hospital.

No information on the suspect was available.  The CHP is seeking witnesses to the shooting.
