Car Smashes Through Front Of South SF Bio-Tech Company

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A hazardous materials team responded Monday afternoon to a car crash through the front of a bio-tech company in South San Francisco, according to fire officials.

The car slammed through glass at the front of Quintara Biosciences on Harbor Way shortly before 3:30 p.m.

Authorities told KPIX 5 there were chemicals in that part of the building. The fire department said the person in the car was trying to park when something went wrong.

Significant damage was visible in the front of the building, which was blocked off.

The fire department said flammable liquid was spilled, but quickly evaporated and the situation was stabilized. Officials said the driver was shaken up, but otherwise unhurt.
