3-Inch Hail Falls In Northern California, Matching Record

RED BLUFF (CBS SF) -- Three inch hail balls that fell on Northern California matched a record as the largest to hit anywhere in the state.

The National Weather Service tweeted pictures of the record hail, measuring three inches in diameter after falling in Tehama County Saturday.

The hail matched the size of hailstones that fell on Southeast San Diego County in 1960.
