North Bay Woman Driving Car With Missing Wheel Accused Of DUI

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) –  The California Highway Patrol early Tuesday morning arrested a Santa Rosa woman on suspicion of drunk driving after she was seen driving south on U.S. Highway 101 without a right front tire on her vehicle.

The CHP received at least six calls around 5:05 a.m. about a 2013 Hyundai Accent that was sending sparks flying as it traveled from Rohnert Park to Petaluma, CHP Officer Jonathan Sloat said.

The driver, identified as 21-year-old Alyson Marie Ice, pulled into a gas station at the Lakeville Highway off-ramp. Ice told CHP officers she was on her way to Larkfield, which is north of Santa Rosa, believed it was 11 p.m. and that she was in Cotati, Sloat said.

The metal wheel was worn down to the brake rotor and Ice said she thought she had a flat tire, according to Sloat.

Officers determined she was driving under the influence of alcohol, marijuana and prescription medications. Ice has multiple license suspensions and DUI convictions, Sloat said.

She was booked under no bail into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of DUI, driving on a suspended license, violation of probation, possession of marijuana and driving a vehicle without a required ignition lock device, Sloat said.

Ice is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning in Sonoma County Superior Court.
