Does Kanye Really Want Mark Zuckerberg To Give Him A Billion Dollars?

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- At first glance, it looked like another Twitter account had been hacked. Pleas for money and sympathy just didn't jibe coming from the handle of Kanye West, but that's what was happening all weekend.

An artist known for his unparalleled swagger and for more hubris than humility admits he is $53 million in "personal debt" and asks Facebook CEO's Mark Zuckerberg to invest a billion dollars "into Kanye West ideas,"? What's up with that?

Much more in keeping his familiar brand of braggadocio, Kanye urged Mark to consider such an investment because "he is the greatest living artist and greatest artist of all time."

At times, the tweets took the tone of a Hallmark Valentine's Day card, like when he told followers, "This is my true heart."

The Tweets continued well into the night... "I am the Jordan and Steph Curry of music... You love hip hop, you love my art... Mark... I know it's your bday but can you please call me by 2mrw... I am your favorite artist but you watch me barely breathe and still play my album in your house... World please tweet, Face Time, Facebook, Instagram... get Mark to support me... you'd rather open up one school in Africa like you really helped the country... help me...

And, so it went. He did make one promise, though --

Making it dope, Kanye will be among the stars on the red carpet at the Grammy's Monday night on KPIX 5, at 4:00 p.m., followed by the Grammys Award Show at 5 p.m.

Meantime, no word from Zuckerberg, who just last month passed up the Koch brothers to become the fourth richest person in America, with a net worth of $47.5 billion.

Maybe he will give Kanye a billion dollars, after all.
