Police Say Missing 22-Year-Old SJ Woman Last Seen At Hayward Party Was Murdered

HAYWARD (CBS) -- A 22-year-old San Jose woman who was last seen while at a party Saturday night in Hayward has been murdered, police said.

Hayward police detectives Friday said that they have reclassified the missing person investigation of Stacey Xanthe Aguilar as a homicide investigation.

No suspects are in custody in connection with Aguilar's murder, Hayward police Sgt. Ryan Cantrell said Friday.

Detectives, however, said they are still searching for Aguilar's body. Aguilar, described as a Hispanic woman standing 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 185 pounds, had brown shoulder-length hair and brown eyes, police said.

Cantrell said, "We have shifted to a homicide investigation based on information and evidence we have developed."

She was reportedly last seen at about 11 p.m. Saturday at a party in the area of Silva Avenue and Jackson Street in Hayward.

Aquilar's family has declined to speak with the media at this time, police said.
