If You Saw Zebras Running Down The Street In Oakland Friday, You Were Not Hallucinating
OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- What's black and white and runs along the streets of Oakland? No, not the police... zebras!
The folks who saw them thought they were hallucinating. But yes, two zebras really were running down Hegenberger Road on Friday afternoon.
That's the same road that leads to the airport, but they weren't late for a plane. The pair got loose from a circus playing nearby at the O.co Coliseum.
A police officer reported seeing the zebras around 4:30 p.m. running north on Hegenberger Road near Edes Avenue. They had escaped from the UniverSoul Circus show that opened earlier this month. The show runs through March 20.
A couple of people tweeted about the incident, before circus workers were finally able to herd them back.
