Morgan Hill Police Chase Ends With 3 Arrests

MORGAN HILL (CBS SF) -- Three people were arrested Saturday in Morgan Hill after they led police on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle.

An officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation near Monterey Road and Peebles Avenue, according to police.

The driver failed to yield and led the officer on a brief pursuit, police said.

Other officers responded and were able to successfully stop the vehicle. Officers also learned the vehicle had been reported stolen earlier that day out of San Jose, according to police.

Officers identified the three suspects inside as Arturo Urena, 26, Julio Mata, 23, and Teresa Garfias, 21, all of San Jose.

Urena and Mata were both on probation for vehicle theft, police said.

The three were arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, possessing narcotics, driving while under the influence, failing to yield and probation violation.
