Downtown Berkeley BART Station Closes For 2 Hours Due To Major Medical Emergency

BERKELEY (CBS SF) -- The downtown Berkeley BART station reopened Saturday afternoon after being closed for about two hours due to a medical emergency.

At 10:29 a.m., BART officials first reported the closure, saying that trains would not stop at the station, according to BART officials.

Berkeley police confirmed police activity in the area and had asked residents to avoid the area.

The system was recovering from the medical emergency and closure, reporting a major delay on the Richmond Line in the Fremont, Richmond and Daly City directions, BART officials said.
