All-Inclusive, Luxury Hotel Opens In Palo Alto; Rooms Start At $799 A Night

PALO ALTO (CBS SF) -- A new hotel in Palo Alto opened for business on Monday, catering to the region's high-spending clientele with a starting price of $799 a night.

While the prices at The Clement Hotel in Palo Alto are hardly the highest-priced hotel rooms in the Bay Area, the prices are hundreds more than other hotels in the Palo Alto area.

The Clement, which calls itself a "6-star" hotel, also offers all-inclusive amenities with the room price, including all meals and unlimited drinks, along with a personal concierge for each room.

General Manager Sebastian Royce Stacey told the Palo Alto Post the concierge is available for personal errands, tasks such as printing or stapling documents, or "anything that the guest requires."

"We really want to give the Palo Alto experience while people are here," Stacey told the Post.

All 23 rooms of The Clement are one-bedroom suites with stone fireplaces and other luxury amenities. The hotel also features a rooftop pool and private cabanas.

Clement Chen, president of Pacific Hotel Management which operates the hotel, told the Post that although the starting price for rooms seems high, it is comparable with other high-end hotels when you factor in the all-inclusive features.

Chen also told the Post the personal concierge for each guest will separate The Clement from competing hotels.
