Neighbor Publicly Shames Parkgoers Behaving Badly On YouTube

SACRAMENTO (CBS SF) -- People think it's a party park, but one fed up Sacramento neighbor is tired of it and took to public shaming to stop the bad behavior caught on cameras outside his house.

Marty, who did not disclose his last name, said things get out of control after dark and that people go there to have sex, urinate and do drugs.

He decided to take things into his own hands and there's no hiding the equipment.

Marty has a sophisticated surveillance system, out in the open, which catches just about everything.

"People do things in front of my house that they won't do in front of their own, because they're ashamed to do it front of their own house," he said.

In an effort to show others what he and his neighbors have to deal with, Marty posts the videos to a YouTube channel. That channel was recently highlighted by tabloid magazine shows in the US and in the UK. He saw his subscribers skyrocket from 15 to 4,000 in two days.

Marty says he and his neighbors call the authorities, but understands that the neighborhood is not a top priority.

He said he also gives the license plate numbers he captures on his cameras to the sheriff's department. He has also confronted people in the park, something the sheriff's department says is not recommended.

Marty says the troublemakers just keep coming back, but is hopeful that his videos, now in the media spotlight, will highlight the activities and serve as a warning that the park is being watched.
