By Hayden Wright

LOS ANGELES (RADIO.COM) – Sunday, Justin Bieber premiered his latest questionable 'do—matted blonde dreadlocks. What could go wrong?

Reviews were divided into several camps: there were die-hard "Beliebers" who'd be cool if Justin got a "Marcia Clark" perm; then, there were casual critics who weren't impressed with the new look. Finally, there were some who deemed his dreadlocks cultural appropriation.

"People are annoyed cause when black people wear this style they are stereotyped as druggies and are 'unkempt' look at Zendaya for example," wrote one Instagram user. "She had fake dreads and she was stereotyped, But when people such as JB […] wears them its suddenly 'the latest trend.'"

In early 2015, Kelly Osbourne exited E!'s "Fashion Police," after complaining about co-host Giuliana Rancic's comments on Oakland-native Zendaya's dreadlocks. Rancic said that actress/singer's hair suggested the smell of patchouli oil or marijuana. Rancic came under fire from Zendaya and Osbourne, among others, and apologized the next day on E! News.
