Janet Jackson Delays Tour To Begin A Family

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – Pop star Janet Jackson announced Wednesday she was postponing the remaining stops on her Unbreakable Tour including a May 19th performance in Concord so she and her husband can start a family.

In a video tweet posted early Wednesday Jackson asked for her fans patience and forgiveness for delaying the second leg of her tour to promote her latest album "Unbreakable."

"I thought it was important that you would be the first to know my husband and I are planning our family, so I'm going to have to delay the tour," she told her
fans in the video. "Please, if you can try to understand that it's important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor's orders. But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue to tour as soon as I possibly can."

The 49-year-old Jackson married Qatari businessman Wissam Al Mana in 2012.

Jackson did not say if she was pregnant, but said a doctor has ordered her to rest. She did not say when she would return to the stage.
