Morgan Hill Triathlete Club Leader Arrested For Child Molestation

MORGAN HILL (CBS SF) -- The owner of the Morgan Hill triathlete organization, Wolf Pak, was arrested Monday for alleged child molestation at his business.

The Morgan Hill Police Department states that the arrest of David Wolfsmith comes after a lengthy investigation.

Wolfsmith was arrested on suspicion of annoying or molesting a child, sexual battery by fraud, as well as for lewd and lascivious act on a child, police said.

Officers said they have identified both adult and minor victims assaulted by Wolfsmith at his place of business, Wolf Pak.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for Wolfsmith and arrested him in front of his business around 4:15 p.m. Monday.

According to the Wolf Pak website, the Wolf Pak organization and team, "is run by our husband/wife team of Dave and Julie Wolfsmith. Dave Wolfsmith is the former Head Coach of the Sobrato High School Cross Country Team, Track Coach, A personal Trainer in Morgan Hill, Triathlete and Coach Extraordinaire whose athletes are almost always on the podium."

The site states that the organization aims to promote better health and fitness through the sports of running and triathlon, and that its youngest members are around 9 years old.

Wolfsmith was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.

Morgan Hill police are continuing to investigate this case and are urging anyone who has been a victim, or has information concerning this case, to contact Detective Pevehouse at (669) 253-4914.
