Warriors Warning Fans Not To Take Pictures Of Playoff Ticket Barcodes

KCBS_740OAKLAND (KCBS) – It was a harsh lesson learned after tech savvy thieves managed to steal some KCBS corporate Warriors tickets for Wednesday's historic game off of a brief TV screen shot.

A picture of the tickets was shown briefly, but from that its presumed someone duped the bar code and got into the game before the genuine ticket holder did.

"The bar code is a live, living creature. You don't want to make that visible or other people can use it, unfortunately," Brandon Schneider, Warriors senior vice president for business development told KCBS.

Schneider warns fans attending upcoming playoff games not to post the bar code on Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, or anywhere someone else can grab it

The Warriors saw 450 fake tickets during last season's 11 home playoff games, Schneider said. While technology can make things easier to share tickets with friends, fans need to be careful.

"The barcode, the technology is great because it allows you to forward tickets electronically. But it creates this opportunity, unfortunately, for people to do devious things," Schneider said.
