3-Year-Old Oakland Girl Hospitalized After Being Hit By Car

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- A 3-year-old girl was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in East Oakland Wednesday afternoon, a police spokeswoman said.

The girl was struck in a collision reported at 12:19 p.m. in the 1900 block of 98th Avenue. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment and was conscious and breathing at the time of transport, police spokeswoman Officer Johnna Watson said.

The driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating with police, Watson said.

Northbound traffic on 98th Avenue was being redirected Wednesday afternoon while police investigate the collision, she said.

No other information about the case was immediately available.
