Nanny Arrested In Danville After Allegedly Hitting, Shaking Infant On Video

DANVILLE (CBS SF) -- Police in Danville announced a 23-year-old Antioch woman was arrested Monday afternoon on a charge of child abuse after parents reported seeing the woman strike and shake their infant on video.

Danville Police Chief Steve Simpkins said officers were dispatched at 2:32 p.m. to a home on Bordeaux Court after parents saw the incident occur via a remote video camera. Upon arriving at the home, officers arrested Antioch resident Makayla Ririe on charges of child abuse.

Ririe was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

The child, a 10-month-old infant, was transported to San Ramon Regional Hospital as a precaution.

No further information was available from authorities. The incident remains under investigation.
