49ers Starting Tackle Slams Organization on Twitter

Tom Bogert, CBS Local Sports

San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Anthony Davis sat out the 2015 NFL season due to health concerns and had been sitting out of Twitter for the last month.

Davis is seemingly ready to return to the team for this upcoming season then also decided to return to Twitter. He fired up the quickest gateway for an athlete's inner thoughts and visceral feelings to go on a seemingly unsolicited rant about his organization.

Davis sat out the entirety of last season but stated from the jump that he would be back in a year. His sabbatical from the game was to "take this time to allow my brain and body time to recoup and heal."

With the growing concerns of the damage that a prolonged affair with the game of football may cause, Davis' decision was rooted in rational thought. Lately in the NFL, players have been retiring earlier than ever before due to banged up bodies and fears of the worst post-retirement.

It's unclear what'll come of this one-sided war of words between Davis and the 49ers. It currently lays dormant for the moment as yet another storyline to watch going into the NFL Draft.

Speaking of storylines to watch going into the NFL Draft, 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been rumored to want out of San Francisco. So while Davis was at it on his rant, an opportunistic fan probed Davis for his thoughts on the Kaepernick situation.

Davis, as his follower expected, was in an honest mood and gave him an answer.

That follower saw an opportunity and took it. That's a savvy, veteran Twitter move.

As a fan of repetitive disappointment and frustration, Tom holds Liverpool FC, the New York Knicks and New York Red Bulls near and dear to his heart with occasional joy coming from the New York Giants and New York Yankees.
