Chinese Riot Robot Zaps 'Potential Threats' With Electric Charge

KCBS_740 SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- Inventors in China have developed a robot that can zap people it determines are a potential threat with an electric charge.

The AnBot is being billed as an intelligent security robot designed for riot control. At nearly five feet tall and weighing 175 pounds, the robot uses artificial intelligence paired with cameras to analyze situations.

The robot can travel at speeds up to 11-miles per hour, and can work for up to eight hours at a stretch, depending on how many rioters it has to zap.

AnBot was developed by the National Defense University.
