Multi-Vehicle Crash Briefly Snarls Eastbound Hwy 24 At Broadway

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- As many as eight cars were involved in a crash on state Highway 24 in Oakland Tuesday afternoon that slowed the evening commute, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash on eastbound Highway 24 near Broadway was reported at about 4:30 p.m., CHP officials said. Only minor injuries were reported but at least two eastbound lanes of the highway were blocked in the area.

Two ambulances and two tow trucks responded to the scene in addition to CHP units. The lanes were cleared by about 5:15 p.m., but drivers were told to expect to expect residual delays.
