Man, Dog Die In Concord House Fire

CONCORD (CBS SF) -- A man and a dog were killed in a one-alarm residential structure fire Thursday night that also injured a woman, firefighters said.

According to Fire Marshal Robert Marshall, the blaze was reported around 8:45 p.m. in the 2400 block of Tanager Circle.

Firefighters arrived to find a garage on fire and a vehicle parked just outside the garage which was also mostly on fire. It's not clear whether the fire started in the vehicle or the garage, however, Marshall said.

A man was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. A woman was transported to a hospital with minor injuries and smoke inhalation.

The family dog was also killed.

Marshall said there wasn't much fire damage to the home other than the garage. Most of the house sustained smoke damage, however.

Cause of the blaze remained under investigation.
