Dog Found High On Heroin, Meth During SoCal Drug Raid
ORANGE COUNTY (CBS SF) -- A small terrier mix rescued during drug raid at a Southern California hotel is detoxing because police determined it was high on drugs.
The dog, whose name is Bubba, had heroin and methamphetamine in its system.
Police are not sure if the dog actually ingested the drugs, or inhaled them through second hand smoke.
"This is the first time we've heard of an animal under the influence," said Tustin Police officer Robert Wright.
Police arrested Bubba's owner for parole violation and drug possession.
Once Bubba is healthy, he will be put up for adoption.
