Giants Place Hunter Pence On DL With Hamstring Injury

ATLANTA (AP) -- The San Francisco Giants have placed outfielder Hunter Pence on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring.

Pence missed six starts with another right hamstring injury before returning on Saturday. This time, the more significant injury could keep Pence on the disabled list longer than two weeks.

Manager Bruce Bochy says Pence "did a pretty good job on it. That's a shame."

The Giants placed outfielder Angel Pagan on the 15-day disabled list on May 24 with a left hamstring injury.

Pence's seven home runs are tied for the team lead. He is tied for fifth in the NL with 36 RBIs.

Jarrett Parker replaced Pence in right field in Thursday's lineup against the Atlanta Braves.

The Giants recalled outfielder Mac Williamson from Triple-A Sacramento.
