Bill Clinton Campaigns For Hillary In Oakland From The Back Of A Pickup Truck

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Former president Bill Clinton spoke from the back of a pickup truck in downtown Oakland Monday as part of a Bay Area barnstorm to pull a win out for Hillary Clinton come Tuesday.

"I hope that if you haven't voted yet, you will vote for her tomorrow and get some more people to do it," Bill Clinton told a crowd in Oakland on Monday.

The five stop swing, that included Hayward, Antioch and Richmond, came as Hillary Clinton worked Los Angeles. Both were working to get out the vote in what has become a neck and neck race with Bernie Sanders.

"People look to California. You represent our future, you represent all of our hopes," Clinton told the crowd.

And while Clinton never mentioned Sanders by name, he did try to merge with some of Sanders' progressive issues.

"College debt is the only loan in America you can't refinance. That's wrong. If we refinanced, overnight 25 million young Americans will save $2,000 each," he said.

And take a jab at Sanders as well.

"It's one thing  to talk about change. It's  another to deliver it," Clinton said.

But most of the former president's fire was aimed at Donald Trump.

"I know we can run this whole general election with Mr. Trump's greatest hits," he said.

Then in typical Clinton style - he dropped the jacket and waded into the crowd.

While many Hillary supporters were in the crowd, many in the crowd remained skeptical.

California resident Angelina Cruz said that while Bill Clinton "was very genuine" during his speech, she's not going to vote for Hillary. She said she'll vote for Sanders on Tuesday.

California resident Dylan Versteeg agreed, saying, "I'm okay with Hillary. But I'll vote for Bernie to send a message."
