KPIX's Elizabeth Cook To Guest Host On 'The Talk'
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – KPIX anchor Elizabeth Cook will be heading to Los Angeles on July 12 to be a guest host on the popular CBS daytime show 'The Talk.'
As part of the show's 'Anchor's Away' week, Cook will be joining hosts Julie Chen, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Aisha Tyler and Sara Gilbert.
For Cook, a long-time fan of the show, it's a dream come true.
"I'm so thrilled and honored to be on the show," she told Chen in an interview Tuesday. "I've been the biggest fan since it began. In fact, when I was on maternity leave I had to watch it every single day. It was my little dose of therapy especially in those early weeks. It was perfect timing. My little boy was napping. I had my little moment of Zen with 'The Talk' and everything was okay."
Chen said the idea for the show came to her co-host Gilbert during her maternity leave.
"That's kind of how 'The Talk' came to be," she said. "Sara Gilbert was on maternity leave with her second child and she joined a group that kind of helped her keep her sanity. New moms who were going through the same thing. They needed to feel connected and she said: 'The connection I get from the group I go to I want to do that on TV.'"
Cook will not be alone in Los Angeles. One lucky KPIX viewer and their guest will also be flown to Southern California for the show.
