Two Wounded In San Francisco Mission District Shooting

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Two men battled for their lives Thursday after being shot while they sat in a car on a San Francisco Mission District Street, authorities said.

Investigators said the shooting was reported at 2:18 a.m. in the area of 17th and Mission streets.

The victims, ages 39 and 36, were sitting in their vehicle when a black sedan approached and a driver got out of it. The driver approached the victims' vehicle and opened fire at them, police said.

Both victims suffered life-threatening gunshot wounds and were taken to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment. Their condition was not immediately known.

Police have no released a description of the male shooting suspect, who may have had a female accomplice.
