San Francisco Police Arrest 2 Suspects In SoMa Nightclub Shooting
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Police in San Francisco on Friday announced the arrest of two suspects in a fatal shooting at a SoMa nightclub earlier this month.
Early Wednesday morning at about 4 a.m., San Francisco Police Department homicide investigators, with assistance from the SFPD Tactical Unit, served a search warrant on the unit block of Dedman Court. 25-year-old San Francisco resident Charles Gardner was taken into custody.
Gardner was later booked into San Francisco County Jail on charges of homicide, being a member of a street gang and carrying a concealed weapon.
That same morning, 37-year-old Terrance Webb of Hayward was taken into custody at his home with the assistance of the Hayward Police Department Tactical Unit. Webb was also booked at the San Francisco County Jail on charges of homicide and being a member of a street gang.
The homicide charges are related to a fatal shooting that happened early on the morning of Sunday, June 5. At around 2 a.m., San Francisco police officers patrolling the area of 6th and Folsom streets heard gun shots.
The officers searched of the area seeking a source for the gunfire and saw patrons rushing out of a nightclub on the 400 block of 6th Street. The officers were directed into the nightclub where they founed the victim -- a 19-year-old male San Francisco resident -- suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to an area hospital, but he later died from his injuries.
SFPD homicide investigators were eventually able to identify of the two suspects and had probable cause to make the arrests.
