Fergie: "MILF $" Video Empowers Moms To Stay Sexy

By Hayden Wright

Fergie's music video for "MILF $" earned headlines for its eye-popping cameos and bold restatement of the Fergalicious brand. As her first solo single since 2006's The Dutchess, personal developments (namely motherhood) informed Fergie's reemergence on the pop scene. Before you dismiss "MILF $" as a catchy pop trifle, consider these bigger implications of casting moms (Kim Kardashian, Chrissy Tiegen, Ciara, and Fergie Ferg herself) in such a sexy, provocative light:

"This is definitely empowering moms to have fun. Being a mom and having a career, taking care of yourself and still being able to be flirty and fun and a little naughty sometimes - there's nothing wrong with that," Fergie said, according to Billboard. "Society tries to tell moms what they should and shouldn't be, and it's just a little freeing to have fun with pushing those limits a bit. I might do it a little bit more than others, but that's just who I am."

Fergie added that it was a delight to work with the powerful, visible, much-followed ladies in her mom squad.

"These girls are insanely beautiful and they're all doing great things. These women, they were just having so much fun on set, giving their best 'Got Milk' ad if you will," she said. "It was just great."

And perhaps we haven't seen the last of "MILF $." Fergie says more footage from the shoot could become the basis for spin-off projects and perhaps an extended video.

"There's so much more content that we shot... that we're just going to keep probably presenting it to everyone. I think 'M.I.L.F.' will probably have its own babies."
