Cyclist Runs Red Light, Gets Hit, Seriously Injured By Car

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A cyclist suffered serious injuries after getting hit by a car in San Jose Monday afternoon.

It happened just before 5:00 p.m. at First and Mission streets.

Witnesses say the bicyclist ran a red light and was hit by a Prius.

Officials shut down the VTA lane while they investigated the accident and reopened it a couple of hours later.
