Santa Rosa Store Clerk Pistol-Whipped In Robbery
SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- Police are seeking three suspects connected to a robbery at a Santa Rosa store Saturday night, in which one of the suspects pistol-whipped a store employee.
Around 10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery at Cash for Gift Cards at 405 Santa Rosa Ave., according to police.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim, a 52-year-old Petaluma man who was working at the store when the robbery occurred.
The victim said a man and two women walked into the store.
The male suspect, armed with a handgun, then pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded money, as well as merchandise from the store, police said.
As the victim was complying with the suspect's demands, the armed suspect struck the victim several times in the head with the firearm.
The three suspects then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, gift cards and other property, according to police.
The suspect did not fire the handgun during the robbery and no customers were inside the store, police said.
The suspect with the handgun is described as a black man in his late 50s, about 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds, with short black hair. He was wearing a dark gray sweatshirt and jeans.
The second suspect is described as a black woman in her mid 50s, about 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds, with straight black hair. She was also wearing a dark gray sweatshirt and jeans.
The third suspect was described as a black woman in her mid 20s, about 5 feet and 2 inches tall, according to police.
