Late Night Crash Ends With DUI Arrest For 62-Year-Old Woman

PACIFICA (CBS SF) -- Police arrested a 62-year-old woman early Sunday morning after she allegedly crashed her car while driving drunk, according to police.

Around 2:50 a.m., officers responded to a report of a crash near Beaumont Boulevard and Gordon Way, police said.

Upon arrival, officers saw a vehicle that had left the roadway and went down a hill, coming to rest against the gas meter of a home.

Concerned for the risk of a fire, officers extricated the driver from the car. She was taken to a hospital for examination, where medical personnel concluded she had not suffered any major injuries, according to police.

Firefighters from the North County Fire Authority, as well as PG&E crews, responded to the scene.

After an investigation, officers concluded the driver was under the influence of alcohol. She was identified as Pacifica resident Janice Andreasen, police said.

After being released from the hospital, officers arrested Andreasen on suspicion of driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol level over .08 percent, according to police.
