Luxury Plug-In Hybrid Karma Revero Going On Sale In US, Canada
MORENO VALLEY (CBS SF) -- Look out Tesla. There's a new luxury plug-in whirring down the block.
Its name is Revero. And while the name is new, the car is not really new at all.
The Revero is the newly resurrected electric luxury sports sedan from Karma Automotive, formerly known as Fiskar.
With a price tag north of $100,000, the Revero runs on gasoline and electricity and may appeal to the would-be Tesla buyer looking for something different to spend big bucks on.
Production of the Fiskar Karma halted in 2012. After a 4-year hiatus and a name change, the company announced Monday its highly-anticipated hybrid will be going on sale in North America.
Karma Automotive says the Revero will be available at dealers in Atlanta, Chicago, Fort Worth, Miami, Philadelphia, Detroit and West Palm Beach. The Costa Mesa-based company also plans to open a direct-sales center in Orange County, but that location has yet to be disclosed. In Canada, the Revero will be on sale at dealers in Montreal and Toronto.
Like the Tesla, the Revero is manufactured in California. The company currently employs more than 600 employees at its 500,000 square foot factory in Moreno Valley.
