2-Car Collision Leaves Vehicle On Its Side Near Downtown San Jose

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A two-car collision left one of the vehicles on its side just outside downtown San Jose this afternoon, a police spokesman said.

Officers responded to a report of a collision in the 300 block of North Third Street at East Julian Street around 2:20 p.m., police Officer Albert Morales said.

The collision was between a SUV and smaller two-door vehicle that ended up on its side, Morales said.

Everyone inside both cars was able to get out on their own. They were treated at the scene for injuries not considered life-threatening, according to Morales.

Firefighters were called to the scene to conduct a rescue, but by the time they arrived both drivers were outside the vehicles, fire Capt. Brad Cloutier said.

It seemed the cars were involved in a head-on collision and struck some parked vehicles on southbound North Third Street, Cloutier said.

It appeared bystanders in the area helped the driver exit the car on its side through one of the vehicle's doors, according to Cloutier.
