Glider Pilot Survives Crash Into Tree On Interstate 80 In Placer County

NYACK, Placer County (KPIX 5) - A glider pilot is lucky to be alive after ending ended up in a tree along Interstate 80 in the Sierra.

California Highway Patrol posted pictures on Facebook of the plane dangling from the tree near Nyack.

The pilot said the aircraft lost altitude and left him stuck 25 feet in the air.

He was safely rescued.

No word on how they got the plane out of the branches.
