Watch The Lumineers Continue Cleopatra's Story In 'Angela' Video

By Amanda Wicks

(RADIO.COM) – The Lumineers continue telling the story of "Cleopatra" by way of another song "Angela/Patience" off their sophomore studio album Cleopatra. Their latest music video marks the newest installment in a series that traces Cleopatra's life in reverse chronological order.

Directed once again by Isaac Ravishankara, the video finds Cleopatra in her 20s and pregnant. Part of her wants to run away from all of her responsibilities, while the other knows that she's old enough now to handle what life throws at her, even if she'd rather take a different path. As a result, the video splits into two narrative storylines, one where Cleopatra leaves her husband and runs away, and another where she stays.

Those familiar with the band's previous video for "Cleopatra" will recognize the pregnant woman in the brown nightie and rose colored cardigan from the cab ride Cleopatra offers her in that visual. As "young Cleopatra" in this latest video, she takes off in a car in the middle of the night. Timelines crash into one another at the end when young Cleopatra awakens in a hotel room, sees older Cleopatra outside starting her taxi, and leaves to catch a ride, thus picking up where the video for "Cleopatra" started.

The Lumineers have a more prominent place in "Angela/Patience." In between shots of Cleopatra, the band performs at a low-key house show.

The Lumineers, Borns & Rayland Baxter are scheduled to perform at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley on October 6th and 7th.
