Hayward Police Investigate Deadly Friday-Night Shooting

HAYWARD (CBS SF) — Police in Hayward are investigating a shooting that left one person dead Friday night.

On Friday at 9:41 p.m., officers with the Hayward police department responded to a report of shots fired and a man down in the 700 block of Memorial Avenue, according to police.

Responding officers located an unresponsive man suffering from a gunshot wound on the ground and in front of an apartment complex, police said.

The victim was pronounced deceased by Hayward Fire Department personnel.

The victim has been identified as Matios Haile Zeru, 29, of Hayward, police said.

The shooting marks the city’s ninth homicide this year, according to police.

    Matios Haile Zeru? What is wrong with the Hispanics and their names? It is no wonder they are not successful in our society. Worried more about their dumb Chicano lifestyle and how many dumb Latinas they can get on their back, rather than focused on their education and jobs.

      Jack – No one can figure those things out. This is why we need a wall on the border to make sure that these things remain in their failed country of origin….Mexico.
