Boy On Bicycle Injured In Collision With Mountain View Shuttle

MOUNTAIN VIEW (CBS) — A boy on his bicycle suffered serious injuries in a collision with a shuttle vehicle on Friday afternoon in downtown Mountain View, police said.

Officers responded to calls of a bicyclist laying on the road near the intersection of Castro Street and El Camino Real around 3:15 p.m., police spokeswoman Katie Nelson said.

Arriving officers found out the child was on a bicycle and lost control while he rode next to a Mountain View Community Shuttle vehicle that was traveling at normal speeds, Nelson said.

The boy was wearing a helmet when he collided with the shuttle vehicle.

He was taken by ambulance to a hospital where he was treated for serious injuries, Nelson said.

Drugs and alcohol don’t appear to be factors in the collision, according to Nelson.

“that was traveling at normal speeds” So that means 10-15 mph over the limit, right?
