Winter Is Coming; Bay Area Officials Prepping For Weekend Storm
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- While this Friday's expected rain is getting forecasters all excited, it's not going to be a show stopper. But, it is a good reminder that winter is coming.

Do you even remember when you last changed your wiper blades, or checked the tread on your tires?
Kristine Schaff with Oakland's Public Works Department says they are winterizing all 1,500 city vehicles, including police and fire.
"In Oakland, we're always trying to stay ahead of the seasons. There's a variety of things our crews and our organization does to keep Oakland running well," Schaff said.
Her department is asking homeowners to take a look around their property to clear debris before it's flushed down storm drains, potentially clogging them and causing flooding.
City officials in San Francisco are getting ready for winter as well.
"A branch or a tree could come down, so we're going to have arborist crews on standby," Rachel Gordon with San Francisco's Department of Public Works said.
Golden Gate Weather Service Meteorologist Jan Null says we'll see wind, we'll see rain, we'll see traffic come Friday.
"With these first storms, it's kind of a wake-up call for the upcoming winter, and right now we're seeing a lot of leaves falling. So, gutters and drains get clogged," Null said.
