2nd Person Dies After Sebastopol Marijuana Shooting

SEBASTOPOL (CBS SF) -- A second person who was shot Saturday night at a residence south of Sebastopol where marijuana was found has died, Sonoma County sheriff's officials said this afternoon.

John Jessie Mariana, 28, of Guerneville, died at a hospital at 1:35 p.m. today from a gunshot wound, according to the sheriff's office.

Sheriff's deputies responded around 8:15 p.m. Saturday to the shooting in the 5000 block of southbound state Highway 116. Nathan Proto, 36, of Sebastopol, died at the scene while a third shooting victim, a woman, remains at a hospital.

Violent crimes investigators do not know if money or marijuana were taken from the residence, but there is evidence to suggest the case involved the sale of marijuana, sheriff's officials said on Facebook earlier Tuesday.
